Polyomavirus
BK virus and JC virus
Cidofovir Intravenous route over 1 hour v 5 mg/kg once weekly for 2 weeks then 5mg/kg every two weeks Probenecid 2gm 3 hours before and 1gm after 2 and 8 hours after administration of Cidofovir. Rehydration with intravenous fluids is used to prevent nephrotoxicity.
Indications Ø Severe infection in immunocompromised patients.
